Dream Lite

Yes, this thing has been our God Send! I told you all before that since Halloween, Chloe hasn't fallen asleep in her bed at all. She refused to lay down. So I just took it as it was and would let her watch TV on the couch and fall asleep in my arms and then would carry her upstairs. Well....Husband and I were both to the point where we were just done with that. She needed to get back in her bed. So, Memaw bought her this Unicorn thing for Christmas. I had been looking at different options for different lights and things that she could sleep with, but hadn't actually bought anything yet. So, when she opened this thing up this past weekend, I thought, well....it will either work, or it won't. So let's try it!

Saturday night we put her in her Jammies at Memaws house before we left to go home. It's about a 5-10 minute drive home and she almost fell asleep by the time we pulled in the driveway. So I took her inside, took her coat off and we took her upstairs to her room, Dream Lite in tow.

We put her in bed, and at first she sat right up and started fussing a little bit. I turned on the Dream Lite and showed her the starts and lights on the ceiling and told her to lay down and count the stars. So, she did that, and literally fell asleep instantly! I blamed in on the fact that she was super tired. It was after 8pm and she didn't nap that day (or any day that she's home with us).

Onto Sunday. Again, no nap....so around 7:30-8-ish, we put Mickey on the TV and gave her some milk so she could relax a little bit after her bath. Half way through Mickey her eyes were starting to get heavy. So we grabbed Lovey and took her upstairs. Again, put her in bed and she sat up and didn't want anything to do with bed. So we did exactly what we did the night before. Showed her the stars on the ceiling and she instantly laid down and snuggled up to her Lovey and pressed the button on the Dream Lite a few times until I said, "Ok, time to close your eyes" Tucked her hand in her blanket and she fell right to sleep! I couldn't believe it. Was it really this easy?! Has this really been the answer we've been looking for? It's been almost 2 months since we've been able to put her in bed awake and this is all it took?! Omg, I was dumbfounded and happy and excited all at the same time! FINALLY!!!!!

So, Monday night rolled around....we did bath, Jammies, Milk and Mickey, just the same as we always do. Monday is usually a late night because she actually naps at day care, so we got through an entire episode of Mickey, and then we told her it was nuh night time and she grabbed Lovey and we went upstairs. Laid her down, and she really didn't even fight this time. Took a little coaxing, but for the most part, she laid right down, pressed the button on the Dream Lite a few times until I tucked her arms in, and within 10 minutes, she was OUT! Andy and I snuck out, closed her door and BOOM! DONE! This Mamma is one happy camper!!!!!!!

I know it'll probably be a little while before I will be able to leave her still awake, but I'm ok with that. We will take baby steps. This is better then it's been in almost 2 months, so I'll take it!

So WHAT! Wednesday!

This week I'm saying SO WHAT! If:

• I almost forgot to write this post.
• The reason I almost forgot to write this post is because I was watching the election results.
• I'm obsessed with my Galaxy S3!!!
• Since Halloween night, Chloe hasn't fallen asleep on her own in her bed. 
• I don't really mind her snuggling with me to fall asleep.
• Even though I don't mind Chloe snuggling with me to fall asleep, I really hope this fear she has doesn't last long....
• It goes more then another week or 2, I might consider switching her to a full size bed early!
• I have been eating candy every single night
• I cut the feet off Chloe's footie jams. And she loves them now!
• I'm thinking I won't go scary for Halloween next year. Just because of what it did to Chloe this year....
• I'm surprised I came up with that much stuff to say SO WHAT! to!

It's that Warm Fuzzy Feeling

Now, this post should have been posted on Thursday....being the 1st of November, and that's what this is about, but Chloe wasn't being very cooperative with us starting Wednesday night. She got freaked out by the masks and costumes that she saw and has been scared to go to bed since then. So we haven't had much free time at night. But, Saturday, (yes, I wrote this on Saturday) girlfriend didn't nap at all, so come 8pm, she actually passed out on me while we were watching Barney. So that was pretty great! I put her in bed and we had the whole night free to do whatever we needed to do!

So, anyways, back to the actual post.....

Amazing how your mood changes so much in just one day!
October 31st, you are all about Halloween-Fall time, Scary, Boo! And then you wake up on November 1st with this warm fuzzy feeling of cozy, fire place, starbucks fancy coffee drinks, Christmas shopping, warm fuzzy sweaters, and the list could go on and on forever!
No? Just me? What are your thoughts? Care to share? What is your favorite thing about the holiday season? Do you like the fact that radio stations start playing Christmas music the DAY AFTER Halloween? Do you like the fact that even BEFORE Halloween, Target had their Christmas stuff out in the aisle RIGHT next to the Halloween costumes? LOL! Now, that to me is kind of funny....but seriously, November 1st! Bring it ON!
Do you get that warm fuzzy feeling the moment you step out of bed on November 1st? I totally did! And I'd love to hear your thoughts!

SO WHAT! Wednesday!

This week I'm saying SO WHAT! If:

• I went to work on Tuesday, but came home a few hours later sick....and what did I do?! Cleaned. Yep, I couldn't relax until the laundry was started, and the dishes were done. Just couldn't do it.
• I hate weather! end.of.story
• I'm wearing my Prom dress from 2004 to work today because I'm dressed up as Dead Cinderella for Halloween!
• I really don't enjoy carving pumpkins anymore....the only reason I do it is to get the seeds!
• I thoroughly enjoyed trashing my prom dress to get it ready for Halloween! It actually felt pretty good!!
• I really don't have anything else to say SO WHAT! to this week....

For lack of a better post

This Mama is sick! I haven't been sick in a long time, but it hit me. Stuffy nose, headache, runny nose, coughing and sneezing. YUCK!
So, because I'm in no mood to write, here is what we did last night!

Happy Halloween all! And, I hope everyone who is on the East Coast is safe and sound! Praying for you!

This is OUR Halloween

So, this year, making my way to every single gosh darn kids clothing store I could possibly think of, I couldn't a Halloween costume that I thought would be just perfect for Chloe.....there was the cup cake, the butterfly, the dinosaur, the Wonder Woman, the Minnie Mouse....you name it, we saw it. But none of it really caught our eye. Chloe was sick of shopping, and, frankly, so was I!
So, then I came home and looked through a bag of clothes that we had gotten from a good friend of ours who have Twin Girls. I've talked about them a few times on this here blog.....they are the BEST! So, for starters, not only did Chloe get like a TON of really nice summer and Fall/Winter clothes from them, BUT she also got an Amazingly cute Butterfly Halloween Costume!!!! This Mama couldn't be anymore happy about this! For 1-it's Free!! And for 2-It's SUPER cute! What more could I ask for?!

I wish that I would have been able to get a picture of Chloe wearing it, but we are so busy at night, and last night when I wrote this post up, she was outside with Daddy playing in the leaves (post to come) while I was in the kitchen slaving over the stove making a meal that I wasn't too proud of...hmm.

So, Needless to say, I really can't wait for Halloween this year! She's going to be so cozy and warm and she's going to love running up and down the street yelling Trick-or-Treat and saying "dank you" when people give her candy!

Hello, and Welcome Fall!

I think fall just might be 1 of my favorite seasons!! I say that lightly though, because I do love Spring and Summer too! Bahahaha, sorry Winter, I don't like you!!
Anyways, Fall....yes! It's finally Fall time! Time for long sleeves and jeans and hoodies. Time for fancy Starbucks drinks and hay rides and cider and donuts at the cider mill. Time for the leaves to start changing and the weather to get a bit more chilly. Time to start carving pumpkins and start thinking about what the little ones are going to be for Halloween! Time for fresh pumpkin seeds and the smells of the amazing fall Scentsy scents to be filling the homes! Time for Apple and Pumpkin desserts to go in the oven, and of course time for Football and Thanksgiving!
I love Fall!

And of course we can't forget about Fall TV!!! I cannot wait for Vampire Diaries to start!!!! Eeeeeek!

SO WHAT! Wednesday!

This week I'm saying SO WHAT! if:

• I already got a new blog design....this time, it's for good. NO changing it until at LEAST 6 months to a year! I love it, so I don't see myself changing it anytime soon!
• Took us until now to figure out that all we needed to do was change the faucet in the master bathroom to be able to get hot water....hmmmmm
• Took almost 3 months to knock 4 things off our to do list for the house.....maybe this weekend the 5th will get done? Stay Tuned!
• I'm not too worried that nobody is coming to my Scentsy Launch party this weekend....only because I have a party the weekend after that I KNOW I'm going to sweep up!! So excited!!!
• I've been looking at Thanksgiving shirts for Chloe on Etsy....yep, I said it!
• I'm not sure yet what Chloe's going to be for Halloween....I need some help.
• We didn't do any workout on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday....see also: Mamma chose to drink instead.
• I did yoga for the first time last night!
• I'm sooooo super happy that fall weather is finally here!!!

Halloween 2011

Well, here is what you have all been waiting for. The pictures from this Halloween weekend!!!! Our little Tinkerbell had so much fun! She loved how people were just handing her candy! Too bad she didn't like to eat it. LOL!

If your wondering, yes, we put her coat on under her costume. It was a little chilly. LOL!! She had a great time though! Next year she will be something that has long sleeves and tights! That way we can eliminate the bulky coat. Bahaha!
